Munbe Vaa - from Sillunu Oru Kaadhal - based on which Raga(s)???

Would like to know if Munbe Va - is based on Carnatic or Hindutani Raga(s) ?

Thanks

I'm no carnatic guy, but

I'm no carnatic guy, but checking with some experts and Google, here's what I found:

Munbe Vaa is strongly based on Natabhairavi...there are no signature swara pattern that could reveal the usage of sindhubhairavi in it. The caranam however differs using only major swaras where traces of mohanam and sankarabharanam could be heard.

and also :

Munbe vaa" as well as the original "yaa ali rehemu ali" are based on raga jaunpuri.

So aparently, there is a rendition in Hindustani too.

Text in italics I quote, not mine! Cool

Thanks for the notes and info on the ragas - especially that you mentioned the Carnatic as well as the Hindustani bits.

I am no Carnatic buff either; just plain curious. I could not successfully with the keywords in my 'google' search.

Thanks Again
